You care, and that’s good. But not every hardship needs your help sometimes the kindest thing is letting someone find their own way through.
Caring well isn’t always about fixing. Sometimes it’s about staying close enough that someone doesn’t feel alone, but giving them enough room to figure out what they’re capable of.
There’s a difference between carrying someone and walking beside them. One takes the hardship away, the other respects that getting through it is how they learn their own strength, make their own choices, make it actually theirs.
The hard part is the discernment. When is it growing pains that need space, and when is it something heavier where just knowing someone is there makes the difference.
